Late night student lock in back at Churchill Square

There’s not long left now to register for the student ‘Lock-In’ event at Brighton’s Churchill Square where they’ll have the chance to take advantage of huge discounts whilst having a great night out.

Following the amazing success of its annual fresher’s week Lock-In, Brighton’s shopping centre has organised an extra extravaganza for Wednesday, 13 April – giving students the run of the centre as well as the chance to make some incredible savings.

“This is the first time we’ve held a student Lock-In event in April,” said Churchill Square Centre Director Mark Buchanan-Smith. “Our annual fresher’s week event continues to be a huge hit and is one of the highlights of our year.

Registration is now open for the event, which, as with previous lock-ins, will see Churchill Square opening ‘after hours’ exclusively for students, with live music and entertainment to keep everyone entertained from 6.30pm to 10pm.

“Local club Coalition will be providing the music, and there will be a host of entertainment throughout the centre,” said Mark. “In keeping with the shopping theme, we’ve also lined up the amazing ‘Granny Turismo’, an amazing, hilarious shopping trolley dance display team, who will be bringing their act to the malls.”

Retailers will be offering a variety of one night only discounts and special offers for students, and there will be several surprises throughout the night.

“As with previous lock-ins, admission is totally free but students have to register beforehand otherwise they will not be able to get in on the night,” said Mark. “Our fresher’s event regularly attracts more than 10,000 shoppers so we’re expecting a big turnout on Wednesday and it’s important that anyone wishing to come along has registered properly.”

The event is open to anyone over 16 who attends any college or university. To register, visit www.studentlockin.com. Once details have been accepted, a confirmation e-mail will be sent which needs to be brought to the centre – together with student identification – on the night.

Mark said he was sure the event was going to be a fantastic success. “The Lock-In is always a fun-filled evening and with the entertainment we have lined up and the discounts on offer, we’re really looking forward to this being another huge hit with students,” he said.
