Not just a market diner

Market Restaurant and Bar to open early September

Market Restaurant and Bar is the latest creation from the experienced restaurateur and designer/chef duo Kate Alleston and Neil Mannifield, the award-winning team that brought you Graze, the popular AA rosette restaurant in the Brunswick area of Hove.

Inspired by them stumbling upon an old Camden Market sign at an antiques fair, which will adorn the front of the building, Market will be the first restaurant in the city where bar stool dining is the main activity.

Blue-steakThe fresh new look of the building has been designed to give the feel of a traditional market with a swathe of Victorian Green metro tiling, mirrors, a lawn wall and a bright, clean, utilitarian approach to the furniture, lighting and wall usage.

The bill of fare is to be mixture of small plates ideal for sharing, named on the menu ‘From the Green Grocer’, ‘From the Fish Monger’ and ‘From the Butcher’.

Alongside will be a series of larger dishes, from steaks to fish of the day, and on weekend, their Big Market Brunch menu. As well as an exciting wine list and cocktail menu, locally brewed craft lager and beers will be available on tap and by the bottle.

Kate and Neil are working closely with a handful of Sussex’ best local suppliers, some of whose wares will be available to buy in the restaurant. This is to be a delightful food hub – we can’t wait!

Opens beginning of September
