The Great Escape completes 2015 line-up

Final 150 artists announced

Returning to Brighton this May (14th -16th), The Great Escape have completed their line-up for its 10th birthday festival.

In just over six weeks, Europe’s biggest festival for new music will take over 30+ venues across the city, bringing 18,000 music lovers with it.

With over 400 of the best up and coming artists now on the line-up and with a number of special guests still to be announced, The Great Escape will once again give festival-goers an unrivalled opportunity to explore an international circuit of future sounds.

Completing the triptych of special 10th birthday shows are Skepta & JME*. Two of the original pioneers of the Grime genre, Skepta is currently leading the scene’s resurgence onto a global platform with his warm welcome into the highest levels of the Hip Hop universe.

With his fourth  studio album ‘Konnichiwa’ soon to drop, Skepta will take to the Brighton Dome Concert Hall, the festival’s biggest stage, on Saturday 16th May,  alongside his brother JME, the founding pillar of the notorious Boy Better Know Collective.

Skepta and JME join Alabama Shakes* (now sold out) and Kate Tempest*, with support from Hollie McNish and George The Poet on playing the festival’s biggest stages across the three days.

Amongst those joining the line-up today are TGE 2006 alumni The Cribs, who have just released their sixth studio album ‘For All My Sisters’, Supergrass frontman turned solo musician Gaz Coombes, who first played TGE in 2012, Australia’s beat-heavy Singer/Rapper Tkay Maidza, South London Grime MC Afrikan Boy, alt-grunge five-piece Hyena, atmospheric multi-instrumentalist Tropics, French actress and singer Cécile Crochon, aka Hollysixand the Lower East Side soul-infused, R&B duo Lion Babe, who have just collaborated with Pharrell on latest release ‘Wonder Woman’.

Bringing an eclectic mix of emerging talent to Brighton this  May The Great Escape also welcomes Chicago rapper and Joey Bada$$ collaborator Mick James, heavy guitars from LA-based Queen Kwong, Cambridge rock outfit Lonely The Brave, the solo venture from one half of ‘Fuck Buttons’ Blanck Mass, acoustic blues artist Dan Owen, captivating singer-songwriter Rhodes, rap-rock band The One Hundred and left-field singer-songwriter Jane Weaver.

The Arts Council England supported Great Day Out, a new multi-venue underage mini festival programmed especially for a 14+ audience, and today welcomes Get Inuit, K.Flay, NEw City Kings, Klara Ketela and Optical to the line-up.

Looking to embrace younger music fans, it will take place on Saturday 16th May at Komedia and Komedia Studio Bar.
