The Ivy is coming to Brighton – and serves breakfast in the sea!

Just in case you haven’t heard the buzz, Brighton is going to be getting its own Ivy restaurant. The Ivy in the Lanes will be opening its doors on Wednesday 2 May and has already been taking a swathe of bookings from excited diners in anticipation.

To celebrate the announcement, the restaurant team provided a unique dining experience for the hungry members of Brighton Swimming Club. Eight members of the club were served breakfast in the sea by Ivy waiters after an early morning dip.

It’s thought to be the first time that a Brighton restaurant has served breakfast in the sea, and where else would you see this but Brighton?!

WHAT ABOUT THE RESTAURANT?
The Ivy in the Lanes will offer all-day dining, seven days a week, from dawn until dusk. The brasserie’s interior will feature Brighton-inspired artwork, including pieces depicting the pier, sea life and Brighton beach, all set against a backdrop of leather banquettes, a striking onyx bar and pendant lighting.

There’s cocktails, of course, including the delicious-sounding Candy Floss Fizz, incorporating prosecco, rosé, lychee, ginger & Havana three-year-old rum, and the Pavilion Passion, with fresh passion fruit shaken with vanilla infused Wyborowa vodka, finished with flaming rum in a passion fruit shell.

GETTING A TABLE
If you’re worried it’s going to be packed with the rich and famous and you won’t get in, fear not. The Ivy Collection’s new haunt will hold back a proportion of tables, allowing visitors to drop in throughout the day at their leisure, without booking. The Ivy Collection is a group of restaurants, brasseries and cafés, and each location is carefully handpicked to reflect the local area.
