Theatrical, exciting, challenging, and a lot quicker than eighty days…

Phileas Fogg Adventure in Brighton Title Sussex Magazine www.titlesussex.co.uk

New immersive adventure experience Phileas Fogg’s World of Adventures in Brighton is a massive win. We can’t tell you too much about it though, says Gemma Windham, or we’ll have to kill you…

Why just go to the theatre when you can BE the theatre?! This immersive experience opened its doors recently and we can honestly say it’s the most fun we’ve had sober for quite some time (yes, we’re doing StopTober).

This brand new experience set in Sussex House in Hollingbury is a world first, and takes you back in time to 1870, on a spectacular theatrical trip around the world. You’re accompanied by eccentric explorer Phileas Fogg himself as he attempts to win a £20,000 wager while evading the law.

IT’S LIKE BEING IN A FILM!

The experience features theatrical actors, special effects, puzzles, escape room style challenges, and sixteen incredible settings that transport you from Venice, to Ancient Egypt, the Arctic, the Wild West and beyond. Think theatre visit meets Crystal Maze meets escape room and you’re not far off.

Inspired by the iconic Jules Verne novel ‘Around the World in Eighty Days’, Phileas Fogg’s World of Adventures is designed to appeal to all ages and offers two different experiences; one catering to families with children and the other more challenging option aimed at adult groups and parties, be mindful of this when you book.

GOOD FOR BIG KIDS AND EVEN BIGGER KIDS

We took Harry (eight years old) who loved every minute but there are special effects and sudden noises, so it’s probably an experience for ages seven and upwards as the website suggests. Younger kids would also struggle to take part in the challenges and puzzles (WHICH WE CAN’T TELL YOU ANYTHING ABOUT!) but what a great idea for a corporate event, or a stag or hen party; and the venue is available for private hire if you want exclusivity.

DETAILS

Whilst we won’t be providing any spoilers, what we can tell you is that the experience lasts an hour, and caters for groups of up to 10 people at a time. You are transported around the World, assisting Phileas in completing his mission to make it around in 80 days. You work as a team to solve puzzles, overcome challenges and collect artefacts along the way, and it’s great fun. We’ve also heard that there will be special themed experiences for Halloween and Christmas, and we’re already watching out for tickets…

“We are so excited,” says owner Graham Owen, “to open Phileas Fogg’s World of Adventures in Brighton. We love this city and I’m thrilled to bring an experience that can compete with London attractions to the town. It’s our dream that can be enjoyed by everyone from families with young kids to friends, professionals and grand-parents.”
