Stars step into Brighton’s Lanes
Celebs visited the Lanes last week to promote small shopping
The Brighton Lanes were treated to a taste of pizzazz last week as singer Alesha Dixon, along with local dance troupe Killabeez, showed off their pavement power to encourage people to shop small this Christmas.
The energy created from their footsteps on a power-generating pavement installed by American Express lit up 400 Christmas lights along Meeting House Lane.
Amex Shop Small Ambassador, Alesha Dixon, was there to promote the benefits of shopping at small local shops in the city, before a number of Brighton & Hove Albion players also made an appearance.
Seagulls stars Bobby Zamora, Tomer Hemed, Beram Kayal and Dale Stephens greeted fans and signed autographs as well as meeting local small business owners and American Express employees.
The technology was a UK-first and it is estimated that around 41,000 shoppers lit up the 400 Christmas lights.
