After months of restrictions, it’s wonderful to see events happening again!

Musicians were recently finally able to perform live music at the Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens estate in West Sussex. Much to the delight of the guests. There they enjoyed an evening of opera music, performed by the Bernardi Music Group as part of the 2021 Summer Concert Series.

The venue was stunning! The sun was shining, rhododendrons and azaleas in full bloom on display, overlooking the trees and the countryside. It was a perfect spring afternoon.

Some wonderful operatic favourites

The Bernardi Music Group delivered a moving performance. With their elegant interpretation of the music, paired with the extraordinary venue environment, the audience was able to clearly hear and see the emotions of singers and musicians.

Performances included Puccini’s Crisantenmi and Nessun Dorma. Also pieces from La Boheme, Verdi’s La Traviata, and Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti.

Musical director Andrew Bernardi performed with the Stradivarius Trio, Jonathon Few on the cello, and Maria Marchant on the piano. They were joined by Victoria Greenwood playing the viola, Andy Laing playing the violin, and Gemma Murray playing the double bass.

World famous opera singers graced the stage too. Soprano Charlotte Broker and tenor Ben Thapa regularly perform at international venues such as the Royal Opera House. Performances included Puccini’s Crisantenmi and Nessun Dorma. Also pieces from La Boheme, Verdi’s La Traviata, and Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutti.

The Bernardi Group will be performing at the 2021 Summer Concert Series the Shipley Arts Festival.
