Sackville Tower plans scrapped
The Hyde Group that had proposed a 17-storey building on the site of the old Sackville Hotel in Hove has withdrawn its planning application after receiving over 800 objections during consultations.
The Sackville Tower, planned for Kingsway on Hove seafront, would’ve provided 98 homes, ranging from penthouse apartments to “affordable” flats.
However, after considerable protest from local residents and the ‘No To Sackville Tower’ campaign group, which ranged from rom the tower’s size and design to the effect it will have on the surrounding buildings, the plans have been scrapped.
The Hyde Group has said it will submit a revised scheme in the near future and, with the site derelict since 2006, we want to hear your opinions on the proposals.
Do you want a building on the site? What style should it be and will the houses be affordable? Let your voice be heard by emailing your opinions to dan@titlemedia.co.uk and you could feature in the next issue.
