Sackville Tower plans scrapped

The Hyde Group that had proposed a 17-storey building on the site of the old Sackville Hotel in Hove has withdrawn its planning application after receiving over 800 objections during consultations.

The Sackville Tower, planned for Kingsway on Hove seafront, would’ve provided 98 homes, ranging from penthouse apartments to “affordable” flats.

The Hyde Group has said it will submit a revised scheme in the near future and, with the site derelict since 2006, we want to hear your opinions on the proposals.

Do you want a building on the site? What style should it be and will the houses be affordable? Let your voice be heard by emailing your opinions to and you could feature in the next issue.
