Brighton Big Balls returns to Sussex this weekend

Norman Cook among many set to take part in comedy run this Sunday

Brighton Big Balls takes place this coming Sunday (May 10th) at 12noon from the Big Beach Café on Hove Lagoon.

Now in its third year, Brighton’s premier comedy run returns in aid of male cancer charity Orchid.

Contestants will be experiencing the traditional Big Balls warm-up at 11.45 before taking their two large balls in their hands to clamber over Brighton’s best beaches and groynes whilst being abused by Big Ball fans on route.

Starting the proceedings is TV legend Johnny Ball and taking place will be celebrity supporter Norman Cook, AKA Fat Boy Slim.

Each beach also features an obstacle of comic proportion designed to rid the contestants of their treasured balls. All contestants must finish with their own numbered balls in order to claim their coveted BBB 2015 medal.

Although clearly aimed at men, lots of ladies also take part to show support.  However ladies are asked to wear a comedy moustache and run in a “manly-manner”. The female competitors even have their own competition for the best moustache of the day (but real ones are automatically disqualified).

The event is kindly sponsored by, The Brighton Nuffield Hospital, Brighton Racecourse & Brewers decorating merchants.
