Just over a week ago The Great Escape celebrated its 10th birthday with a sell-out festival that brought together 450 artists, 20,000 music fans – including 3,500 industry delegates – 35 venues, secret shows, a pop-up restaurant, film screenings, a record label market, networking events, keynote speeches and more.
TGE15 looked back at the past 10 years to create the greatest birthday bash ever, bringing back festival alumni Alabama Shakes (2012), The Maccabees (2006), The Vaccines (2011), Drenge (2012) and more to join the party, as well as tapping into the sounds of the future, introducing the likes of Skepta, H09909, Kate Tempest, Ibeyi, George The Poet, Jack Garratt, Stormzy, Tobias Jesso Jr, Lion Babe, Pretty Vicious, Susanne Sundfør, Sunflower Bean and hundreds more to the TGE family.
If you missed out, or just want to relive it again, then check out the official Great Escape highlights film here:
And if that video doesn’t quite satiate your TGE fix, then clear your diary now – The Great Escape will return to Brighton next year to kick start the festival season May 19th – 21st 2016.
With Super Early Bird festival tickets and delegate passes on sale now, TGE16 will mark the beginning of the next decade of incredible new artists, street gigs, surprise shows, film screenings and pop-up restaurants showing exactly why it has earned its reputation as Europe’s leading festival for new music.
