Best-selling author Peter James opens much anticipated new shop in Hove, Guild Care

Guild Care’s shop opening was officiated by renowned best-selling author Peter James. Guild Care are known for being Worthing’s leading social care charity, supporting older people living with dementia, and children and adults with learning disabilities. Their aim as a charity is to reduce social stigma, they believe no one should feel isolated.

Peter James, bestselling author of crime and thriller novels, was delighted to be invited to open the large new store in George Street, Hove.

Why is the opening important?

This highly anticipated addition marks a significant milestone for Guild Care with the Hove shop being its eleventh shop in the local area. The new Guild Care shop promises to delight avid readers and shoppers alike with its diverse range of goods. Customers can explore an extensive collection of books, clothes, accessories, games, jewellery, and electrical items.

All the money raised in the shop will help Guild Care to achieve its visions for all those in need of care to live fulfilling, safe and secure lives.

Guests offering a helping hand

The opening of the store brought together local businesspeople and encouraged donations, which were much appreciated from the team at Guild Care.

Mike Holland, a successful local businessperson, and Guild Care supporter assisted in the opening of the new Hove store. He was thanked in a speech made by Adam Rider, Director of Retail at Guild Care, ‘Guild Care are delighted to open a flagship store in Hove. I would like to thank Mike Holland for his generous financial support enabling Guild Care to secure this prime Hove location, and also thank Peter James for kindly opening our new shop’.

Guild Care encourages residents of Hove and neighbouring areas to visit the new charity shop on George Street which is open 9-5 Monday to Saturday and 10-4 on Sundays. Donations of pre-loved items are always welcomed.
