Sussex Food and Drink Awards on Title Sussex Magazine www.titlesussex.co.uk

Hurry! With just a couple of days left, organisers of the prestigious Sussex Food and Drink Awards are urging people to get their votes in for their hospitality heroes.

Over 12,000 votes have been counted already for the 2020 Awards, which sees the best food and drink producers, farmers, butchers and places that serve and sell local produce nominated for an award. And the closing date to make your vote count is 18 Jan!

Sussex is increasingly famous for its incomparable local produce. As well as a variety of farmer’s markets, production of wine and introduction of new drinks are infamous in the county. There’s a wide range of nominations this year and we are so glad we aren’t responsible for choosing between them all; it would be far too difficult!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Paula Seager, co-director of Natural Partnerships CIC, who runs the awards said: “we are thrilled to see so many people voting and giving our superb food and drink producers in the region the recognition that they deserve, which is what these awards are all about.

“Businesses from across the county have made it onto the list including 31 from West Sussex, 19 from East Sussex and seven from Brighton and Hove.

“The competition is incredibly tight again this year and we would love to beat our record number of votes from last year. The results of the public vote are so important and will help our expert judges to select the top three Grand Finalists 2020 in each category, who will be announced in March.”

Grand Finalists will be invited to attend a BAFTA-style ceremony on April 29 at the Amex Stadium in Brighton, where the winners will be revealed. Guests will enjoy a seven-course Sussex produce banquet, and the event will be hosted by awards patron Sally Gunnell OBE and Danny Pike from BBC Sussex.
