Safe journeys for your furry friends: pet owners pay attention!

If you have a pet but don’t drive, it can be worrying knowing how to transport your pet to the vets. Particularly in an emergency, or during the middle of the night.

Pets 2 Vets is a relatively new 24-hour animal ambulance service based in Worthing. Starting in 2023, they have established themselves as the ‘Best Pet Transport’ company in the South East and London, winning a national Prestige Award for their services.

Background:

Pets 2 Vets is a local family run business, founded by Karen and Andy Adsett, local animal lovers who noticed the enormous gap in the market. Fueled by their love for animals, they retrained and studied pet first aid at Brinsbury College in Sussex. This first aid animal training allows them to monitor and care for your pets throughout the transportation process, giving them the safest possible ride to the vets.

Services:

Based in Findon, the service currently covers West Sussex and parts of East Sussex and Surrey with three ambulances. These ambulances are fully insured with Pet Business Insurance, and hold vital first aid equipment such as oxygen, hot and cold water, bandages etc.

Animal first aiders are always on board during journeys and can administer emergency first aid while on route to the vets.

Pets 2 Vets is not just limited to veterinary transport though. They can transport your pets for reasons such as kennels, dog shows, rehoming, moving homes and cremation.

In addition, local police have now put Pets 2 Vets into their control centre, so if any incidents occur with an animal, they will be the first point of contact.

Trusting the team

It’s nervewracking putting the care of your beloved pet in someone else’s hands, but there are plenty of testimonies from happy customers, to put your mind at rest. Floods of customer reviews praise the couple’s dedication, and urgency for their jobs.

‘I want to thank you (Pets 2 Vets) for how quickly you responded today when I had to transfer my cat urgently from Brighton Coastway to RVC Hospital in London where they have medicine that may save his life.’ (They arrived and began the trip from Brighton up to London in an hour).

‘Thank you so much Karen and Andy! Karen expertly coordinated everything and kept us all informed of the trip through regular updates. And Andy – well he is a superhero. He drove nearly 7 hours and hundreds of miles for my sweet cat, Tyrion. And how cheerful was he throughout the process – when someone loves what they do, it shows!’
