If you’re seeking to start your career progress, or simply looking for a career change, this summer is your chance

Get ready to embark on your next chapter, with two apprenticeship events in the upcoming summer months.

The events are free, with the first being held on Tuesday 25 June, at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings. The second event is on Thursday 11 July at the Welcome Building in Eastbourne. Both events are scheduled to start at 4:30pm and end at 6:30pm.

The Apprenticeship Roadshow 2024 is organised by The Sussex Council of Training Providers, who have partnered up with East Sussex County Council and East Sussex Careers Hub.

The Sussex Apprenticeship Roadshow will unlock your future

The Apprenticeship Roadshow, aimed at all age demographics, will benefit people wanting to kickstart their desired apprenticeship, while maintaining a positive mindset for the future.

At the 2023 Apprenticeship Roadshows, 800 young people, parents and job seekers showed up to find out more about what apprenticeships could do for them.

This year’s events will include employers and training providers promoting their live vacancies while delivering insight on apprenticeships from the pre-employment schemes. You can also hear discussions on how to get onto degree-level apprenticeships. This will be a great opportunity for young people in the Sussex area, people in need of a pathway change and job seekers who want further information on what an apprenticeship entails, and how it can help their future.

“Those attending the free roadshows will be able to visit our next steps support areas to find out what pathway is right for them and hear from current apprentices about their experiences”, said Councillor Penny di Cara, who is the lead member for the economy at East Sussex County.

A Q&A session will be held at both events. Apprenticeship employers, apprentices and training providers will be speaking and answering questions for those who are seeking to achieve their career goals, and are interested in real-life experiences.

What do employers have to say about the event?

One employer, operations manager Dan Wahnon, stated: “It is crucial to invest in the next generation to ensure the ongoing success of our industries. The Hastings and Eastbourne Apprenticeship Roadshows have been invaluable in recent years, providing us with a prime opportunity to engage with aspiring engineers.”

Managing director at GM Monk, Scott Monk, believes that employers who support the roadshow will help strengthen the apprenticeship opportunities within the local area, along with increasing apprentice routes for companies, which will lead to future careers within the construction industry.

Registering and further details

As highlighted before, both events are free to register while spaces are available.

If you are asking yourself what you would like to do with your future, wanting a career change, or simply looking for an apprenticeship but don’t know where to start, then the Apprenticeship Roadshow 2024 will be the event to answer your questions.

If any Employers want the chance to expand their vacancies to potential employees, you can contact the roadshow through the email ESRoadshow@sctp.org.uk
