Plans proposed for 100 new homes in Hove

Plans to build 104 new homes on School Road in Hove have been submitted by the Crowborough-based development company Cross Stone Urban Regeneration.

The scheme is expected to cost around £10 million, incorporating more than 40 affordable homes within the site as well as flats, commercial space and a basement car park.

Currently the site is home to a community hall, a children’s play facility, a motor shop and a car servicing shop as well as many other smaller units.

Following the submission there have been several objections to the scheme, including concerns over the increase in traffic, the height of the flats and the increased pressure on nearby schools and lack of community space.
