Ahhh summer. Time of cocktails and high jinks by the sea. If you’re going to do cocktails, you should do them right, right? So obviously the Grand in Brighton is high on our list of go-to places, and we’ve got a humdinger of a competition for you…
Two lucky people will win the opportunity to visit the Grand, enjoy a cocktail tasting with head barman George Kiamili and write up the experience for Title Sussex Magazine online. The tasting will include all five of the Grand’s signature cocktails and if you can make it through that many and still stand up, we want to hear all about it.
Obviously we’re not going to say too much about these because we want to hear your take on them, but there’s the Columbus, which is all tropical and pineappley and peachey, and the whiskey based Baroness (named after Margaret Thatcher!). If bourbon and bitters is more your thing, then the 1864 is for you, and the Grand Martini, made with Hendricks, is every bit as sumptuous as you’d expect. Finally there is the Hobdens Margarita, made with Himalayan rock salt, tequila, and Dubonnet! If you want to see more detail about the cocktails you can see the video below or the full list HERE.
George has come up with the ingredients for a new Grand cocktail, and he needs a name for it. The ingredients are below – we simply want you to name that cocktail. Be as imaginative as you like, but take note of the ingredients – we’ll be looking for clever as well as creative!
25ml Brighton gin
15ml violet liqueur
10ml rhubarb vodka
20ml lemon juice
10ml vanilla syrup
10 ml white chocolate
Top up with elderflower lemonade
